In October and November 2019, the City of Vancouver issued Unsafe Orders against the Joyce Place strata relating to safety concerns with the townhouses.  On December 1, 2020, the Joyce Place strata pled guilty to failing to comply with the City of Vancouver orders to provide the required shoring for the townhouses and was fined $5,000 and ordered to complete an application for any required permits to repair the failed structural framing for the townhouses by January 31, 2021.   While the fine was paid, the Joyce Place strata did not make the necessary application to the City of Vancouver.  In July 2021, the Joyce Place strata was charged with failing to abide by the December 1, 2022 court order.  On March 9, 2023, the Liquidator, acting on behalf of the Joyce Place strata, entered a plea of guilty to that charge.  The Joyce Place strata was fined $2,500 and further ordered to submit a complete application for the required repairs to the townhouses by December 31, 2023.  The Liquidator has paid the fine.   A copy of that court order is linked here:
